Robert Foitzik, Marlborough District Council, Blenheim

Robert is the General Counsel of the Marlborough District Council. He is an experienced in-house lawyer with more than 20 years legal experience.

Robert held various senior roles in central and local government,  advising on complex public law matters, JR proceedings, commercial and corporate transactions (BAU and projects, contracting, procurement), employment and Health and Safety.

He is also the Privacy Officer of the Council, oversees LGOIMA requests, carries out the duties of Disclosure Officer under the Protected Disclosures Act 2020 and is responsible for the Council’s legislative compliance programme.

Prior to being appointed as General Counsel, he was a Senior Solicitor in the Property and Transactions team at Auckland Council Legal.
