I am a tech geek that received terrible career advice and wound up at law school. I spent ten years practising finance law in a mix of private practice, public sector, and investment banking roles. Which was a walk in the park compared to what came next: staying home with young kids! Since then, I've followed a newlaw career path, with a flexible mix of IT law and legal operations, technology, and strategy consultancy. I recently joined Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington as part of its in-house legal team, where I’m following my passion for all things tech. That includes equal parts excitement, frustration, and anxiety about AI’s potential for legal services!
