Hayley Bowman has practiced law in a variety of Government roles since 2006, primarily in administrative law. While completing her LLM at Victoria University, she developed an interest in criminal law and has been a legal adviser for New Zealand Police since 2020. Hayley’s legal team provides advice to frontline Police in the South Island and the bottom half of the North Island. While her role is varied in that it involves civil litigation, criminal law and administrative law, she has a particular interest in human rights and public order policing (such as the role of Police in keeping the peace during protests).
