Contracting with Iwi or Kaupapa Māori Organisations - a practical session

Topic: Contracting with Iwi or Kaupapa Māori Organisations - a practical session

The Māori economy is booming and iwi Māori are becoming key investors and business partners in Aotearoa’s economy. Coupled with this, many organisations are seeking to understand and strengthen their relationship with Māori by forging innovative partnerships.

So what do in-house lawyers need to consider when contracting with iwi or kaupapa Māori organisations, and how is it different from other forms of contracting? How can these considerations be reflected in your negotiations and documentation? What are the opportunities and challenges that come with contracting in a culturally informed manner?

The presenters hope there will be time within the workshop for the audience to share their own experiences and learnings in an open kōrero (Chatham House rules apply).
