We currently have a newly created position available for a Principal Solicitor to provide technical, operational and stakeholder leadership in the Enforcement team.  This role supports the Head of Enforcement, and the wider Enforcement and Evidence & Investigations teams.

As part of the General Counsel function, our Enforcement team is responsible for all legal work in response to misconduct and contraventions of the law within the financial markets. 

We are looking for an experienced regulatory litigator with 10+ years PQE with a genuine interest in developing the practice and capability of the Enforcement team. 

Key to your success in this role will be your relationship management, self-motivation and organisational skills.  As part of the Enforcement leadership team, you'll provide expertise on behalf of the team to the wider organisation and represent the FMA Enforcement function in stakeholder engagement.  You will bring enthusiasm and creativity to this newly created role, with the genuine opportunity to make it your own.

You'll be able to demonstrate:

  • Senior level experience managing complex, large-scale cases in high pressure environments, particularly in the field of regulatory litigation.
  • Commercial acumen and prior exposure to the financial markets.
  • Agility to operate in a dynamic environment.
  • Previous experience in leading projects relating to the enhancement of business processes(desirable)
  • Previous experience in a public sector environment (desirable).
