Training for Privacy Officers - Simply Privacy
Being a Privacy Officer is an increasingly complex
job - and its often the responsibility of in-house counsel. As well as keeping up with customer expectations and new technology, the compliance landscape is also changing. In December 2020 the new Privacy Act will come into force, introducing mandatory data breach reporting, extraterritoriality, restrictions on offshoring personal information, and increased compliance and enforcement powers for the Privacy Commissioner.
To help Privacy Officers meet these new obligations, Simply Privacy is offering its popular Privacy Officer Toolkit training workshops in Auckland (July 22) and Wellington (1 September). These workshops are aimed at those who are either new to the role of Privacy Officer or might have been doing it for a while but feel like they need to brush up on their skills.
Facilitated by Emma Pond, an ex-lawyer and current privacy professional with 15+ years practical privacy experience, these small group workshops will provide pragmatic and interactive training to help you manage your Privacy Officer responsibilities - including under the new Act - such as staff training, access requests, privacy impact assessments, data breach response management and dealing with complaints.
See here for more details including how to register. (in-house workshops also available).
