Postponed: 33rd ILANZ Conference & ICW World Summit 2020
The 33rd ILANZ Conference & ICW World Summit 2020 was to be held in Wellington on 21 & 22 May 2020. Following the Government’s ban on indoor gatherings of more than 100 people, conference will be postponed for 12 months.
While we are disappointed to be unable to welcome our international guests and ILANZ members to Wellington this year, we are very pleased to be able to postpone the conference to May 2021. We are currently in discussions with Te Papa regarding dates and these will be announced once confirmed.
This conference was shaping up to be one of our best yet, with a great line up of local and international speakers exploring, ironically, the theme of Navigating Uncertainty. While it is unfortunate our event will not be going ahead as planned, we all need to play our part to reduce the risk of the virus spreading.
We hope that you will join us in Wellington in 2021.

Where and when will the postponed conference be held?
We are planning to hold the ILANZ Conference & ICW World Summit in Wellington at Te Papa in May 2021.
Given the conference has been postponed do I get a refund for my registration?
Delegates may transfer their 2020 registration to the 2021 event. However, we appreciate some of you will require a refund. Please email [email protected] if you would like a refund.
I was really looking forward to the programme, what happens to this for 2021?
While the 2020 programme featured a range of great speakers, we recognise that we live in changing times. We will therefore review the keynote and streamed sessions to ensure all topics are still relevant and speakers are still available in 2021.
What happens to the 2020 ILANZ Awards?
Nominations are still open for the 2020 ILANZ awards. We are now evaluating options and will provide an update soon.
What does this mean for the ILANZ AGM?
We are currently investigating options to hold the AGM as an interactive, online streaming session. Once we confirm details, we will communicate this to members.
What does this mean for other ILANZ events?
From Monday 23 March, we have made the decision not to hold any public events until further notice. However, we will make use of teleconferencing technology, including webinars, to continue to deliver services where possible – we will keep you updated.
