From the President July 2019
Kia ora koutou and welcome to this edition of the Insider. The ILANZ president, Sian Wingate is currently enjoying some time off, so I am filling in for this edition.
As you are probably aware by now, the New Zealand Law Society national office on Waring Taylor Street, Wellington is now closed. The ILANZ operations team – Gabrielle and Tiffany – are currently working remotely, but still contactable via email and phone, so it’s business as usual from our perspective.
So what’s on the horizon for ILANZ?
There are a number of events coming over the next few months. Our Valued Partner Kensington Swan is running a Contract Law update in Auckland (8 August) and Wellington (13 August) – the Auckland session will be livestreamed for our regional members.
In September we will be running a half-day workshop called ‘Courageous Conversations about Race’. See the Insider for further details. We are very pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to our members at a very reasonable rate and encourage you to attend.
Also in this month’s Insider we include the link to the Deloitte-ILANZ Trends Survey Report. Some follow up events to encourage discussion of some of the key results are planned for September and October.
The ILANZ committee will be holding their annual strategy day on 19 September. The committee will come together in Wellington to set their priorities for the next 12 months. If there is a particular issue or idea that you would like to bring to the attention of the committee prior to their strategy day, feel free to get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Any input or feedback from our members is greatly appreciated.
