New Plymouth District Council plays a key role in supporting community well-being, the economy, the environment and the overall quality of life in the New Plymouth District. To fulfil that role we need great people on board, and right now we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced lawyer to join our Risk, Legal and Assurance team.

Our vision is to build a sustainable lifestyle capital, and being part of our team means you will help to make our district a better place to live and to work. The successful candidate will be familiar with a range of commercial, property, regulatory, LGOIMA and Privacy compliance and enforcement matters, and be able to provide practical advice and review and draft various legal documents. They will work on various matters to assist Council staff to manage their legal risks and maintain compliance with legislative requirements. Ideally the successful candidate will have experience practising in a local government environment but this is not a pre-requisite.
