Here is a fantastic part time opportunity for an intermediate or senior Legal Counsel to step into a leadership role.
About the role
A valued member of the senior leadership team, as sole Legal Counsel you will establish and manage the dedicated legal function of this FMCG business. Well supported by the parent company’s legal team and external counsel, you will shape and develop the legal function, providing professional legal assistance to support the needs of this rapidly growing international business.
You will have experience in a broad range of general commercial contracts and will be comfortable dealing with new and unique legal issues. No two days will be the same as you proactively participate in the increasing success of these well-known brands. Typically, your day will range across product sale agreements, co-branding agreements, licensing & distribution, procurement, IT agreements and equipment acquisition to competition, employment, and food law matters. You will manage an IP portfolio and manage litigation as it arises. You will enjoy providing astute pragmatic legal advice to the SLT, ELT and other stakeholders.
This part-time (3 days per week or equivalent) role is based in Penrose. The competitive remuneration package includes a car park.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
· A minimum of 5 years high quality corporate/commercial law
· Experience within the FMCG industry
· Sound experience drafting, negotiating and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts
· Strong relationship building and influencing skills
· Some international experience would be ideal
