Right now, due to an internal promotion we're searching for an exceptional Senior Solicitor to join our Enforcement team, within our General Counsel function. Our Enforcement team is responsible for all legal matters pertaining to FMA enforcement action in response to misconduct and contraventions of the law/professional standards within the financial markets.

In this role, you'll provide high quality legal advice and apply your expertise in relation to investigations, litigation and other enforcement action to ensure FMA's enforcement goals are achieved, and that the enforcement function reinforces FMA's reputation as a strong, effective, proactive and respected organisation.

This position is ideally suited to a senior solicitor from the public sector with enforcement experience or a litigator/ prosecutor in private practice. At least 8 years' post admission experience, knowledge of the financial services industry and a current practising certificate (or entitlement to one) are prerequisites for the role. You will have a good working knowledge of civil procedure (essential) and criminal procedure (desirable) but it will be your drive, enthusiasm and adaptability that will allow you to truly excel in this role. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills will be just as important as your technical abilities.
