About the role
Based in their Wellington Head Office, with some flexibility to WFH, the Senior Policy & Regulatory Compliance Officer reports to the General Counsel and Management Services.
In this varied role, you will manage the policy and regulatory compliance programme across the Group and provide legal support, you will maintain governance structures for policy and regulatory compliance functions, coordinate the assessment of new NZ legislation impacts across a wide range of areas (i.e. Employment, Privacy, Fair Trading, Competition law) and integrate into policy and regulatory compliance management. You will undertake continuous process improvements to enhance tools and processes in line with best practice.
What we’re looking for
- Three to five years’ experience in a legal or compliance assurance type role, law qualification preferred
- Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, policy and regulatory management
- Excellent written communication skills, attention to detail and ability to tailor communications to meet audience needs
- Motivated, self-starter, independent individual with high level of initiative and ability to adapt style to achieve required outcome
- Strong influencing skills with ability to motivate and enlist cooperation of internal stakeholders
