About the role

Centrally located with modern well-resourced offices, a hybrid working model with flexibility to WFH, this part-time opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel reports to the General Counsel and is assured of top-quality experience.

You will use your expertise to hit the ground running and provide accurate and timely legal advice and other transactional and project support to the business teams. This role will provide legal advice and other transactional, and project support to the business including, negotiating, drafting and reviewing contractual documentation, health & safety, including managing notifiable events, regulatory compliance, including trade practices and environmental issues, employment, disputes, and property.

This is a part-time fixed term contract role with the possibility to extend. Lots of flexibility in an inclusive and supportive environment.

What we’re looking for

• You will have a strong LLB degree with at least 8 years’ good quality general experience (ideally more) with in-house experience and will hold or be entitled to hold a current New Zealand legal practising certificate.
• You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people including senior internal and external stakeholders
• Commercial and pragmatic interpersonal style with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Excellent negotiation and technical skills, with attention to detail
