A unique Financial Services Institution is looking for a lawyer to join its team of 4 experts.

Between them, they service all of the legal needs for the business's Executive Leaders and wider management team. The organisation offers a down to earth, family orientated, pragmatic work culture. The Head of Legal has a wealth of experience both in this organisation as well as a career in overseas and domestic institutions which adds even more value to the team.

The role itself will be a wide variety of legal advisory work associated with a Financial Services organisation.

A snapshot of an average week's tasks are below:

• Ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of NZ policy and law changes that might affect the operations of the business and making adequate recommendations of practice change in line with these.
• Providing training and presenting material to wider staff in terms of policy and law change in a practical and comprehensive manner.
• Providing "hands on" practical day to legal support across a multitude of topics as and when they arise including contract review, transaction review, compliance and risk, internal and external client documentation.
• Keeping up to date on website and marketing legal requirements and taking necessary action as appropriate to retain compliance to legal policy.

4 - 10 years PQE will be considered and a competitive salary is on offer at all levels.

Most importantly you will need to have a very down-to-earth, pragmatic character and communication style. You won't mind a changing list of priorities and enjoy liaising with many different stakeholders. You'll be a genuine advisor identifying practical solutions to legal problems, be able to adopt an operational writing style for internal requirements and change up to draft formal communication when necessary.
