Senior Legal Counsel – Sime Darby Motors – Auckland

Provide commercial legal support to the motor entities of Sime Darby Motor New Zealand & Australia Commercial Vehicles.


About the role:

We are delighted to be partnering with Sime Darby Motors who are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for New Zealand. As a group they operate on a global level across 18 countries with their Headquarters situated in Malaysia and have over 1,200 New Zealand employees.

Based in their Auckland offices this role will sit on their senior leadership team reporting through to the NZ Managing Director - Motors, and the Head of Legal in Malaysia. The purpose of the role is to provide legal support to the motor entities of Sime Darby Motor New Zealand and Australia Commercial Vehicles.

This is a full-time, office-based role, however as an organisation they offer excellent WFH flexibility if desired.


About you:

The role requires someone with strong communication skills both written and verbal. You will be providing timely and high-quality legal advice across the wider business and to key stakeholders from junior through to C-Suite. As such we are looking for someone with:

  • 8-11+ years PQE including direct experience working In-house
  • Broader corporate and commercial contract experience
  • Strong drafting skills and excellent attention to detail
