About the role
Fisher & Paykel Appliances is seeking an additional Senior Legal Counsel to join their award winning in-house legal team. With many exciting initiatives ahead, including relocation to new global headquarters in Penrose, this is a rare opportunity to play a key role in shaping the company’s legal strategy and supporting its growth locally and internationally.
You will provide legal advice across the business (including offshore offices and business units), across a broad range of areas including corporate, legal and regulatory matters. You will utilise your strong contractual drafting skills in a variety of contexts and be able to form strong relationships with a variety of people across the business so that context is always reflected in the advice you give.
This newly created permanent full-time role with WFH (up to 2 days) is your opportunity to make a career defining move and be part of a high performing team. 4 days per week may be contemplated for the right person.
What we’re looking for
- A lawyer with at least 5 years’ PQE who holds or is entitled to hold a current New Zealand legal practising certificate
- Sound foundation experience in a top tier firm and some inhouse experience (secondments or permanent) preferred
- Strong contractual drafting skills
- Good understanding of key intellectual property and privacy concepts
- Understanding of key consumer and competition law concepts would be beneficial
- Good commercial acumen, professionalism, integrity and a pragmatic solutions focus delivery style
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people
- Innovative, enthusiastic and versatile with a proactive ‘problem-solving’ approach
