About the role
Partners Life is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their dynamic legal team based in Takapuna. Working closely with the General Counsel and one other Senior Legal Counsel, this key role will suit an insurance or financial services lawyer and involves a broad range of work such as:
- Providing expert legal advice on customer, product, marketing, and distribution related matters (including customer claims, disputes and remediation)
- Supporting constructive relationships with regulators, industry bodies and other stakeholders
- Playing a crucial role in developing and executing risk management, legal, and compliance strategies to support strategic and operational goals

This role is offered as a full-time permanent position with hybrid working + flexibility. 4 days per week will be considered for the right person.
What we’re looking for
- A skilled lawyer with 10 years+ PQE in insurance or financial services at a top-tier law firm or financial services organisation in NZ, and a current NZ legal practising certificate
- Experience in insurance products, distribution and referral contracts, litigation and dispute resolution
- A strategic thinker with a keen understanding of commercial objectives
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Integrity, energy, and enthusiasm for contributing to the goals and success
