About the role
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a lawyer to join their high performing team. Based in their Auckland Head Office, with flexibility to WFH, the Senior Legal Counsel reports to the Deputy General Counsel & Company Secretary and sits within the corporate services team.
You will provide high level support to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, including management of specific legal, compliance and corporate governance workflows for the business. In this role you will provide legal advice, manage disputes, and dispute resolution processes, and evaluate and monitor the implications of legislation on organisational operations.

What we’re looking for
- A lawyer with at least 5 years’ top quality post-admission experience who holds or is entitled to hold a current NZ legal practising certificate, with a background in commercial / corporate law preferred
- Experience in roles requiring strategic thinking, negotiation skills and problem solving with the ability to manage complex issues
- Experience in NZX and/or ASX listing rules highly advantageous but not essential
- Demonstrated experience in relationship-building and successful management of multiple-stakeholders
- Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
- Advanced contract drafting skills, with attention to detail
