About the role
Based in their Wellington Head Office, Todd Corporation are hiring a Senior Legal Counsel, reporting to the General Counsel, Downstream and Todd Management Services.
In this varied role, you will provide general commercial legal advice across all areas in the Downstream and Group Services business operations. You will deliver a range of legal and regulatory services, manage and negotiate a wide variety of agreements including M&A, advise on and manage dispute resolution processes i. You will use your analytical skills to be objective, logical and apply orderly analysis of the legal problems and apply your understanding of Group strategy to provide a commercial and strategic lens to legal advice
What we’re looking for
- A lawyer with at least 5 years’ top quality post-admission experience who holds or is entitled to hold a current NZ legal practising certificate
- Excellent commercial acumen with strong operational experience and the ability to contribute to a wide range of corporate, M&A and commercial activities
- Energy or utilities sector experience is highly advantageous
- An effective listener and confident communicator with good presentation skills
- Experience in contract drafting and negotiating, with high attention to detail
