About the role

Our client is looking for an accomplished Senior Legal Counsel to join its high performing and diverse legal team. As the most senior legal counsel in the team, you will be 2IC to the General Counsel and assist in the management of all day-to-day legal matters involved in this highly respected global business. You will being your experience and enthusiasm to guide more junior legal counsel and in turn receive development opportunities yourself as you provide a full range of legal, governance, risk, and compliance advice, with a strong technology and digital delivery focus.

This role is busy and variety filled but also offers a great balanced approach to work and life. Enjoying local and international workflows you will negotiate complex contracts and commercial agreements and enjoy working at pace to provide business-ready, pragmatic legal advice on data protection, privacy, software licensing and technology contracts, anti-money laundering, intellectual property, health and safety and general commercial matters.

What we’re looking for

· A lawyer with at least 8 -10 years’ good quality post-admission experience who holds (or is entitled to hold) a current NZ practising certificate

· Experience in corporate and commercial law, gained at a major law firm and/or in an in-house role

· Technology, compliance, and regulatory experience ideal

· A passion for innovation and a tech-savvy approach to legal service delivery

· Someone who will contribute positively to company culture and loves dealing with a diverse range of people every day
