Manager, Internal Governance & Oversight

Based in Auckland or Wellington.

Lead the way.

Put your internal governance and leadership strengths to great use in this role where you'll be counted on to ensure the FMA's internal processes are operating effectively. In turn, this allows us to make the maximum impact we can for New Zealand consumers, ensuring the financial services sector is working well for them.

He angitūtanga: The opportunity

As we grow and prepare to deliver to our expanding remit, we are adding to the leadership team within our Internal Governance & Oversight space to ensure we are set up for success, now and into the future. This position will manage one of the Internal Governance & Oversight teams and will facilitate best practice internal governance and expertise across the FMA. In this role, the focus is to ensure our internal policies and systems enable the high level of efficiency, robustness and outcome we desire.

He kōrero mōu: About you

With your proven internal governance background, you'll have a keen eye for what makes a public sector or Crown Entity organisation maximise its impact through its internal governance and oversight activities. You will also appreciate how to strike the right balance in your approach and influencing across the business to gain buy-in and follow through, fostering clear accountabilities and ownership across a wide range of processes.

You'll have a natural tendency towards collaboration, coaching and mentoring others and are highly motivated to lead others to be the best they can be, individually and as a team.

Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer

You'll enjoy working with people who genuinely care about the work they do and the difference it makes for consumers. The work is both interesting and challenging, fast moving and outcome focused. The environment is social, fun and focused on continuous improvement - for the organisation and for its people, with quality learning and development opportunities and support available for everyone.

This role can be based at either our Auckland or Wellington CBD offices.
