About the Role
We have a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join Fletcher Building’s Group Legal team. This role will see you providing legal support to Corporate and NZ Business Divisions as well as delivering proactive advice to the businesses of relevant developments in the law and legislation.
This role requires experience in a broad range of general commercial matters and the successful applicant will be comfortable dealing with new and unique legal issues. This is a fast-paced role where you work on a diverse range of legal matters, including general commercial and corporate matters, M&A projects, HSE, procurement, marketing, licensing & distribution, information technology, disputes, to competition, sustainability, and innovation matters. You will also manage an IP portfolio.
The Fletcher Building Legal team plays a role, together with the Finance Team, in monitoring and ensuring Fletcher Building policies are adhered to in relation to the assumption of legal and commercial risk and in accordance with Fletcher Building’s Delegated and Operational Authorities.
You will be a qualified lawyer, with at least 5+ years PQE with a background in general corporate/commercial law, with an interest in M&A and IP matters (ideally experience). In-house experience would be beneficial but isn’t essential.
You’ll have exceptional stakeholder management skills and have the ability to develop trust and confidence from internal stakeholders, of varied levels of seniority.
