We have an in-house opportunity for a solicitor experienced in commercial and contract law to join
our team based at our modern Christchurch Airport office.
About the role
You will be part of our small dedicated legal team which provides quality expert legal services for
the PGG Wrightson Group. You will have the close support of our General Counsel and our General
Manager Corporate Affairs.

Your contribution will make a real difference, and by directly helping our managers and staff in
our various Business Units nationwide with their legal matters, you will become a trusted adviser
to them. Our business areas include wholesale product distribution, real estate agency, livestock,
water and irrigation design, retail product sales and technical advice for agriculture and
horticulture, wool agency services and insurance referrals, supported by our corporate teams such
as IT, People and Safety, Finance, Marketing, Property, Procurement and Credit.
About you
You'll be a self-starter, organised and enjoy problem solving and tackling new challenges.
Ideally, you will have the following:
• A legal qualification and the ability to hold a NZ Law Society practising certificate
• At least 4-5 years experience gained in a large law firm and/or in-house (less experience may be
considered for the right candidate)
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, a strong collaborator with experience
dealing with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Experience delivering fit for purpose advice, time management and proactively managing the
delivery of advice to assist the business in achieving desired commercial outcomes
• High levels of critical thinking ability and emotional intelligence, yet pragmatic and down to
earth
• Strong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise own workload and that of
others in a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines.
