Here is an outstanding opportunity for a talented senior corporate lawyer seeking a unique and interesting opportunity with one of the world's longest established infrastructure investors.

About the role
Reporting to the Head of Legal and working as part of a highly accomplished senior legal team, you will be responsible for providing and arranging legal and company secretarial services to MCO, with an initial primary focus including one of MCO's key clients, the NZX/ASX-listed Infratil Limited ('Infratil').
In particular, you will provide the full range of company secretarial services to MCO and Infratil (and related entities) including management of Board and sub-committee agendas; attending Board/Committee meetings; providing minutes and reporting actions; preparation of resolutions and ensuring filings. You will also advise on governance documents; support the preparation of annual reports and other corporate documents, manage a director education programme and maintain best practice policies and charters. This important role also extends to advising on NZX/ASX Listing Rules and other regulatory requirements, and providing or procuring corporate legal advice generally in relation to MCO's internal operations and Infratil's corporate functions.
This is an interesting and impactful role that would suit an accomplished corporate lawyer who may be at the start of their governance journey, or a seasoned professional with deep experience in this area. Preferably the role will be based in Wellington, however Auckland will be an option for the right candidate. Flexible working arrangements are available.
What we are looking for
- Qualified lawyer with NZ practising certificate (or eligibility to hold one)
- A minimum of 8 years' legal experience with a sound background in corporate law
- Previous company secretarial expertise, ideally with some listed companies experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
- A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and to engage positively with MCO staff, clients and external advisers
- The desire to grow, develop and be the best you can be.
