About the role
Here is your opportunity to lead the Company Secretarial function in an iconic New Zealand business that makes a difference every day.
Adeptly leading two direct reports you will lead and manage the company secretarial function, creating a high-performance team that delivers effective corporate governance advice and secretariat services across all Southern Cross Boards and their sub-committees.
Working closely with the Chief Legal & Governance Officer you will be a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the Group providing advice and support to the Chairperson(s) and collaborating with each of the business CEO’s and ELT members to deliver best practice corporate governance consistent with the Group’s ESG strategy. Your insights, advice and expertise will be highly valued. With general oversight of the administration of supporting group functions you will enjoy being a key contributor across these high-performance values-based entities.
What we’re looking for:
· An accomplished Company Secretary with at least 10 years’ experience at senior management level in a large or complex organisation with multiple stakeholders
· Passion for building a high functioning centre of excellence
· Sound leadership experience, ideally with knowledge and experience in financial services sectors or other highly regulated industries
· Commercial nous and strategic focus, designing governance practices to suit the different business environments and objectives within the group
· Strong relationship building and influencing skills, high integrity with solutions focus and adaptability
· Experience getting things done in a complex and diverse business, including through focused prioritisation
