Te tūranga – The role
Forming part of the Risk, Compliance and Legal Services Group, the Legal Services directorate is a critical function here at Te Pūtea Matua.
The Associate General Counsel reports directly to the Director of Legal Services / General Counsel. As an Associate General Counsel, you will be a leader within the team and senior lawyer who will support the General Counsel, by overseeing and leading the day-to-day management and direction of the Legal Team, as well as provide legal advice and other legal services to the Bank. You will play a critical role in supporting the Bank to carry out its functions effectively and lawfully.

You’ll bring:

Significant experience in a legal role, with a relevant tertiary qualification, and be eligible to hold a New Zealand practicing certificate.

Experience or ability in leading a team of lawyers.

Proven relationship management and influencing skills working with both internal and external stakeholders.
-
High quality written and oral presentation and communication skills.
-
The ability to build strong relationships with the business, senior leaders and board members.
