The updated Protected Disclosures Act (In force from 1 July):  Wider reach, greater protections and the private sector firmly in scope

The Protected Disclosures (Protection of Whistleblowers) Act 2022 replaces the Protected Disclosures Act 2000.  From 1 July, the new legislation sees protection for disclosers increased, has greater application to the private sector and places greater legal obligations on the “Receivers” of disclosures.

Deloitte Forensic Partner Ian Tuke will be joined by his trans-Tasman colleagues and Andrew Schirnack, Partner at LangtonHudsonButcher, a specialist employment law firm.  The panel members regularly support clients investigate and navigate sensitive Whistleblower disclosures, and they will share their perspectives on:

  • The key changes made to the legislation, and their potential impacts
  • What to do when receiving a protected disclosure
  • How to encourage your people to speak up
