Geeti Faramarzi is a Senior Associate in the Public Law team at Duncan Cotterill’s Wellington office.  She has extensive experience in public, administrative and regulatory law matters and regularly advises government departments, agencies, SOEs, Crown entities, local government and private businesses on their statutory powers and obligations across a variety of industries including energy and resources, transport, infrastructure, and health.  Geeti has a particular interest in regulatory investigations, compliance and enforcement having spent a number of years in New South Wales representing government clients in contentious public law litigation in courts across New South Wales including assisting the State Coroner in high profile inquests and inquiries.  Prior to that, Geeti was a Judge’s Clerk at the High Court at Christchurch.

Geeti enjoys working with clients to identify practical, strategic solutions that enhance service delivery, mitigate risk and strengthen compliance.  She holds a Master of Laws from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Laws (with Honours) from the University of Canterbury and is admitted in both New Zealand and New South Wales.
