Solicitor - Auckland
This newly created role is a great opportunity to contribute to an evolving procurement function and to support the Senior Solicitor develop a centralised legal function and legislative compliance framework. Work with the Senior Solicitor to provide high quality legal services to an organisation that is open to innovation and finding ways to evolve to meet the needs of our customers and shareholders.
The role is varied and covers a broad range of legal matters with a focus on contract, commercial, corporate and public law. Support the procurement function with legal advice on contracts and participate in negotiations with third parties and their representatives as required. Reporting to our Senior Solicitor you will provide other legal advice and assistance to the wider organisation including policy work, legislative compliance and records management.
Why you are the ideal candidate:
This role will suit an innovative and motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment where no two days are the same. Tertiary qualified with an LLB and admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in New Zealand, you have a solid understanding of commercial law, contract law and contract issues and have at least 2 years PQE. Legal experience in procurement and policy within the public sector and an understanding of Government contracting, whilst not essential, would be an advantage.
Your interpersonal skills and ability to deal with stakeholders needs to be exceptional. In addition you also have well defined time management, prioritisation and communication skills.
