Auckland Council is looking for a Solicitor to join its high performing Public Law team.
This is a valuable opportunity to develop expertise in public law within a complex and dynamic organisation. With the team you will provide high quality, strategic legal advice to the organisation and elected members.
Through your focus on Auckland Council decision-making processes you will become involved in an interesting range of matters - from bylaws to financial planning; law change to judicial review. These matters are at the heart of what the council does. You will have the opportunity to make an important contribution to the council's decision-making and ultimately to its vision of making Auckland a world-class city.
You will enjoy being part of a highly engaged team of lawyers who work in a collaborative and collective way.
Your Skills and Experience
You will have a minimum of 3 years' legal experience in public law and/or local of central government. Alternatively, 3 years' legal experience and a strong desire to learn about public law in a local government context.
You will be adaptable and enjoy working in a diverse and dynamic environment. You will have sound analytical skills and be able to produce high quality legal work.
You will have strong interpersonal skills so that you can form good working relationships within and outside the organisation.
You will be proactive and able to prioritise multiple tasks, with support from senior members of the team.
