Property Lawyer – Transactional - Auckland Council - Auckland
We are New Zealand's largest local authority providing essential services and facilities to nearly 1.5 million people. Our Legal Services team operates in a supportive and collegial way and aims to achieve a genuine work-life balance. You will be encouraged to help contribute to the strong team spirit. The strength of the team has been recognised by previously winning the In-house Team of the Year award and by being a finalist in the most recent awards.
We have a great opportunity for a senior or intermediate property lawyer within the Projects & Transcations team of Legal Services. The team supports all property, transactional, development, infrastructure work of Council and key subsidiaries, ranging from business-as-usual acquisition and disposals, leasing, property advisory work, Public Works Act and Reserves Act issues, through to infrastructure and significant project work. Driving value through effective contract management, efficient use of assets, and collaborating on delivery partnerships with private sector and Government is an important part of our role.
He angitūtanga: The opportunity
The working environment is inclusive, collegial and results-driven. You will be able to work closely with the other lawyers in Legal Services (including corporate, commercial, public law, litigation and enforcement), and with elected members and a wide range of business units and managers at all levels of the organisation.
He kōrero mōu: About you
Relevant experience in transactional property work is required, but not necessarily in the local government context. The team includes several property lawyers, so there is scope to work to your strengths and develop new expertise over time. You will need to enjoy an agile approach to your practice and bring strong relationship development skills. The salary is market competitive, and we can also accommodate flexible working requirements.
Ngā āhuatanga kei a mātou: What we offer
In return, we will offer you a great working environment, the knowledge and support of other like-minded professionals and an enthusiastic and hard-working team to work with.
Please call Bram van Melle (Manager, Projects & Transactions) on 021 225 7830 if you would like to discuss this opportunity (confidentially) before submitting your application. We’d be happy to talk through what the role can offer.
For a confidential discussion, please contact Rennie Sharma, Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant firstname.lastname@example.org or 021 836 546.
Applications close Sunday 21st July 2019.
Employees in receipt of salary protection and/or on the predecessor Council terms and conditions of employment, please note that the salary protection and/or predecessor Council terms and conditions, including relocation, apply to your current position. Should you change to a new position (other than any secondment) you will be issued with a new employment letter of offer with current Auckland Council terms and conditions.
