Property Lawyer and Legal Executive - Auckland
Auckland Council has opportunities for a property lawyer and legal executive within the Property and Commercial team of Legal Services. The roles are focused around Council's transactional property and land advisory work, and there is flexibility to size the roles according to the capabilities and seniority of the candidates. Prior experience in local government property matters would be useful, but is not necessary.
The team supports a wide range of Council-related property work, including some of the most significant infrastructure and urban renewal projects in New Zealand, along with core acquisitions and disposals activity, local authority statutory instruments, and advising on title issues and permitted land uses under local government and reserves legislation.
We work closely with other Council business units, including Panuku Development Auckland, the Development Programme Office, Parks, and Community Facilities.
The salaries are market competitive, and we can also accommodate flexible working requirements. There are great development and advancement opportunities within the Council family. The working environment is inclusive, collegial and results-driven, with plenty of interesting and rewarding work.
The roles may suit someone wishing to relocate to Auckland from another local authority, an in-house practitioner wanting to move to a larger corporate group (about the largest in New Zealand), or someone looking for a change from private practice.
Please email Bram Van Melle Bram.VanMelle@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz if you would like to discuss these opportunities (confidentially) before submitting your application. We'd be happy to talk through what the roles can offer.
Applications close Sunday 14th January 2018.
