Operations and Legal Support Officer - Wellington

The Commerce Commission is New Zealand's competition, consumer and regulatory agency. Our vision is that New Zealanders are better off.

Our Competition and Consumer Branch is looking for an Operations and Legal Support Officer to join their Operations and Legal Support team to help provide project and operational support to the Branch. This is a full-time position for 12 months, based in our Wellington office.


The role

The Competition and Consumer Branch aims to ensure markets are more competitive and consumers' interests are protected. The Branch helps businesses to understand their obligations and consumers to know their rights.

We are currently looking for an exceptionally organised Operations and Legal Support Officer to provide key project support for our Branch teams.


On a day to day basis this role will see you:

  • assisting with responses to Official Information Act requests
  • assisting with trial preparation and bundles
  • creating and maintaining investigative files
  • preparing project status and update reports
  • providing general administrative support.


What you will have

We are looking for someone who has:

  • previous administration experience
  • an eye for detail
  • the ability to prioritise multiple pieces of work
  • a positive, can do attitude
  • exceptional relationship management skills.

You will ideally have a law degree for this position due to the nature of the work you will be supporting.
