We are currently recruiting for a new commercial legal counsel in Wellington or Auckland to support Chorus in bringing New Zealand better broadband. We are New Zealand’s largest fixed line wholesale communications infrastructure company, listed on the NZX and ASX.
We’re successfully building one of the most ambitious fibre to the home ultra-fast broadband networks in the world - providing homes, schools, businesses and hospitals with fast, reliable access to the digital world.
Reporting to the Assistant General Counsel Commercial, the commercial legal counsel is part of a team of commercial lawyers that delivers commercial legal services to Chorus. This role is focused on assisting senior commercial legal partners with commercial work and ownership of business enabling processes. The commercial legal counsel will collaborate with Chorus’ specialist regulatory/ competition teams to ensure holistic advice is provided to Chorus.
Demonstrate your expertise, passion and skills as you operate as part of an effective and engaged General Counsel’s Office.
To be successful in this role you will have a minimum of three years’ post admission experience in the commercial department of a legal firm or equivalent. You will be a savvy and disciplined commercial lawyer, with a can-do attitude and a thirst for learning. You will have highly developed technical legal skills, strong organisational and planning skills and the ability to adapt to change.
