In-house counsel - Auckland
At lexvoco, we’re all about helping in-house lawyers succeed. Our mission is to help in-house lawyers be the best they can be, be more valued, be happier and to work less! As such, we want to be the best team, made up of a diverse mix of amazing people, who all bring their whole, unique self to work.
Whilst innovation and interesting legal work is cool, our culture is what we care about the most. We look for people who share our values:
- Life’s first – work’s next
- Show people you care
- Do what’s right
- Be the best you can be
- Think differently.
We’ve always loved the law, especially the in-house way of practising. So, we started a law firm in Australia in early 2015, and NZ in 2017. Our approach to being a law firm is a bit different though. We do interesting work – a mix of complex matters for great clients coupled with a focus on Lean, corporate strategy, legal operations and technology – and we treat our team with immense pride and care. We care deeply about how people feel and what they enjoy.
lexvoco has three divisions: Continuous Improvement, Legal Services and Technology Solutions. We operate from eight offices throughout Australia and New Zealand, advising organisations throughout the world. Our team includes some of the most well regarded and award-winning leaders in the in-house and legal technology space.
We’ve experienced tremendous growth in a short amount of time and our incredible clients in New Zealand include Beca, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare, Air New Zealand, and a number of government departments. We’re chuffed to be the only law firm in 2016 and 2017 to be included in the Fast Starters by the Financial Review, and we’re the only trans-Tasman “NewLaw” firm. Our data analytics app, MyDay™, has won a few awards too!
We have big plans and are looking for lawyers who are driven and passionate about the change we are driving to join our team and build a career at lexvoco.
Who we are looking for
We are looking to grow our network of lawyers available for short and long term assignments in Auckland and Wellington. You’ll need to have between 6-10 years’ work experience, ideally half of this has been working in-house. You’ll have experience in one or more of these areas – commercial, corporate, technology, financial services, litigation, public and administrative law, policy and legislation etc. You need to know when to be technical and, just as importantly, know when to “let it go”. You need to be super-efficient and eager to learn about new areas of law, Lean and technology.
You’ll have shared ownership of our clients and our success. Given our unique style of working, you’ll need to be comfortable working in our office, sometimes with our clients on-site, and you’re fine to work remotely too if you like.
If this sounds like something you want to be a part of and you believe you can help us change the “legal” world, we want to hear from you! We’re proud of our team and what we do - and we want you to be part of that.
