About the role

Looking for a new legal opportunity?  Want to beat the Auckland traffic?  Look no further, we have an opportunity here at Counties Power.  You will be exceptional at what you do, detail orientated, experience in commercial law and have at least 4 years post admission experience, either working in-house or in a well-regarded law firm.

Reporting to the GM Commercial, this role is responsible for wide ranging legal initiatives including; high quality legal advice to management and directors of the company, participate in commercial negotiations, attend to day-to-day corporate legal affairs, regulatory submissions and advice, carry out due diligence for the company and the preparation of commercial contracts and documentation.

We anticipate initially this being a minimum 12-month contract, two days per week, maybe with the ability to flex to three depending upon projects and your commitments.  We are open to either a ‘of’ or ‘for’ service contract depending on your personal circumstances.

You will have

  • An appropriate legal qualification combined with at least 4 years post admission experience
  • Demonstrate experience in contract drafting and advice
  • Well-developed relationship management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to ensure that legal advice can be presented, interpreted and read with ease by all levels of the business
  • Commercial negotiation experience would be preferred but not essential
