ILANZ Skills Development Course Pilot - Level One: In-House Mindset

ILANZ is delighted to launch the pilot of our In-house Mindset programmme

 Designed by in-house lawyers for:

  • Lawyers who are new to in-house and want to understand how to adopt an in-house mindset.
  • Lawyers in private practice considering a transition to in-house and wanting to understand what kind of mindset shift is needed.
  • New starters in your team who you want to introduce to the in-house mindset.
  • Managers or senior lawyers who want tools to induct a new starter and explain the ‘in-house way’.

Facilitated by Gretchen Young. Gretchen is a former lawyer, an organisational development specialist, experienced facilitator and organisational coach who has worked with a number of in-house lawyers.

Gretchen will be joined by three senior in-house lawyers:

Sian Wingate - President of ILANZ, senior legal counsel with Ultrafast Fibre and experienced commercial lawyer will offer a key overview of the mindset shift required to work in-house.

Bram van Melle – Manager of property and commercial legal services, Auckland City Council – part of an award winning legal function, Bram is an experienced manager and can bring a wealth of knowledge to explain common ethical traps in-house lawyers may find themselves in.

Caroline Beaumont – GC of CityRail Link – Caroline brings a solid commercial background from her time as GC of Coca-Cola Amatil and now the government’s flagship CityRail Link project that will benefit attendees.

Topics covered include: Organisational culture; ethics and risk management; effective practises in in-house roles.
